Terms of Use

By accessing or using DuoFeed (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not access or use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or use DuoFeed. During signup, you are required to provide your birthdate, and registration will be rejected if you are under 13. If you are between 13 and 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you may use DuoFeed only with the consent of a parent or guardian where required by applicable law.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. DuoFeed currently supports email and password authentication. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information up to date.

3. Your Conduct

You agree not to use the Service in any manner that:

• Violates any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation.
• Posts or shares unlawful, harmful, harassing, hateful, defamatory, or misleading content.
• Impersonates any person or entity, or falsely states or otherwise misrepresents your affiliation with a person or entity.
• Uses bots, scripts, or other automated means to access the Service or to manipulate rankings, engagement, or other platform metrics.
• Infringes upon the privacy, intellectual property, or other proprietary rights of any third party.
• Interferes with or disrupts the Service, servers, or networks connected to the Service.
• Attempts to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other user accounts, or any systems or networks connected to the Service.

4. Prohibited Content

The following types of content are strictly prohibited on DuoFeed. Posting, sharing, or distributing such content may result in immediate account suspension or permanent termination:

• Sexually explicit content and pornography — DuoFeed does not permit sexually explicit material, pornography, or nudity of any kind. This includes images, videos, text, illustrations, or links to external sexually explicit material.
• Violent content — Content that depicts, promotes, glorifies, or incites violence, gore, graphic injury, or cruelty toward people or animals is not permitted.
• Child exploitation and abuse — Any content that exploits, endangers, or sexualizes minors in any way. Such content will be immediately removed and reported to the appropriate law enforcement authorities.
• Illegal activities — Content that promotes, facilitates, or provides instructions for illegal activities, including but not limited to drug trafficking, weapons sales, or fraud.
• Hate speech — Content that attacks, demeans, or incites hatred or discrimination against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
• Terrorism and extremism — Content that promotes, supports, or glorifies terrorist organizations, extremist ideologies, or acts of terrorism.
• Self-harm — Content that promotes, glorifies, or encourages self-harm or suicide.

5. Your Content

5.1 Ownership

You retain ownership of content you create and post on DuoFeed ("User Content").

5.2 License Grant

By posting User Content, you grant DuoFeed a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, modify (for formatting and display purposes), publish, and display your User Content in connection with operating, promoting, and improving the Service. This license includes the right to use your User Content in marketing materials, promotional content, website pages, app store listings, and investor presentations. We may use your content in an anonymized or attributed manner at our discretion.

5.3 AI-Powered Categorization

DuoFeed uses artificial intelligence to automatically assign category tags to your posts to improve content discovery and feed organization. This AI processing only adds tags and categories to your posts — it does not edit, summarize, rewrite, or otherwise modify your original text, images, or other content. AI categorization is performed via a third-party API (OpenAI), which processes content solely for tagging purposes and does not store your content or use it for model training, in accordance with their data processing policies.

6. Location Features

6.1 How Location Works

DuoFeed's local discovery feed uses location data to help you find posts and events near you. Location permission is requested during onboarding. If you choose to tag a post with your location, the latitude and longitude of the tagged location is stored with that post.

6.2 Location Privacy

Your exact location is never displayed to other users. Other users can only see an approximate proximity distance (e.g., "3 miles away"), with a minimum display distance that never goes below 1 mile. DuoFeed does not store your current or real-time location — only the location of posts you explicitly choose to tag.

6.3 Location Controls

Location is entirely optional. You may deny location permission and continue using the app, including the Close Friends feed. If you deny location access, you will not see location-based proximity information on posts. You can manage location permissions at any time through your device settings.

7. Content Moderation & Enforcement

7.1 Reporting

Users can report other users directly within the app or by contacting support@duofeed.app. All reports are reviewed within 24 hours.

7.2 Enforcement Actions

Violations of these Terms or our Community Guidelines may result in one or more of the following actions at our sole discretion:

• A warning issued to the account holder.
• Removal of the offending content.
• Temporary suspension of account access (typically one week).
• Permanent termination of the account.
• Reporting to law enforcement where required or appropriate.

7.3 Appeals

If you believe your account was wrongly suspended or terminated, you may appeal by contacting support through the app or by emailing support@duofeed.app.

8. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account at any time. Upon deletion:

• Your account and profile will be immediately hidden from other users.
• Your posts will no longer be visible to other users immediately.
• Your data, including all posts and associated content, will be permanently deleted within 30 days, including from backups.
• During the 30-day period, your account data is anonymized and inaccessible to other users.

9. Third-Party Services

DuoFeed integrates with the following third-party services to operate the platform:

• Supabase — Authentication, database hosting, cloud storage (S3), and push notification infrastructure.
• OpenAI — AI-powered post categorization and tagging.
• Expo — Push notification delivery.

Your use of the Service is also subject to the terms and privacy policies of these third-party providers to the extent applicable.

10. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DuoFeed and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, whether arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, unauthorized access to your data, or any other matter related to the Service.

11. Changes to the Service or Terms

We reserve the right to modify the Service or these Terms at any time. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated effective date. We may also notify you through the app or via email for significant changes. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
